Quantum Shorts will be returning in December with a new call for flash fiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For those of you new to Quantum Shorts, the festival has alternated between annual calls for short films and flash fiction since 2012. The winners of the 2018 edition of the competition for films\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/film-prizes-2019\">were announced<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Films from this most recent shortlist screened at 12 events around the world, travelling to Canada, USA, UK, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand between February and September. They showed at venues including museums and theatres, at dedicated events and in festivals. If you missed your chance to catch them, fret not! Most of the films are archived on our website.\u00a0<a href=\"\/films\">Watch them here.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Quantum Shorts 2019 will open with a call for stories up to 1000 words long. We don\u2019t want to give away details yet, but as before the competition will have one main criteria \u2014 the stories should take inspiration from the weird and wonderful world of quantum physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the meantime, look out for our forthcoming Quantum Shorts e-book. This anthology comprises 37 winning and shortlisted stories over the years of Quantum Shorts. Reading them may unleash your imagination to construct quantum stories of your own, and we\u2019d love to read them.
